I make leather patch hats, tumblers, and other personalized products like cutting boards, door mats, and even unique business cards. I can utilize virtually any design and engrave it. As far as hats, I make leather, acrylic, or Leatherette (faux leather) patches that can be be placed on a hat. If you want it on a patch or other item, I can most likely do it. I will certainly give it a shot. For genuine leather, I source and use US based veg tanned leather and do my own finishing on it to get the desired color and look. I do "one off" custom designs and also larger orders.
If you want one hat or 1000, I can do it. I don't have minimums, although turnaround could be affected by my current workload.
One hat with a pressed patch - $25. This is the basis for all other prices, it could go up depending on what you want. When you get past a quantity of twelve, pricing will go down accordingly. Please ask me and I can provide more details on discounts.
*Wholesale - I do provide hats as well as patches for resale to several customers and apparel companies. I will work with you on pricing. Please ask.
*Minimums - I don't have minimums. I have built this business on trying my best to tell everyone YES, so if you want one hat I will do my best to make it happen.
I have not set up the option to purchase directly from this site yet. It will be offered in the future. For now, please send me an email on the contact page or message my Facebook page for ordering info. I am currently working on migrating this entire site to a new platform where purchasing will be available.
I do my best to get hat orders out as soon as possible. If I don't have the hat(s) on hand that you need for your order, there could be an additional couple of weeks as we wait on the hats to come in. I will get started on making patches as soon as possible so that part is already done.
This year, orders have picked up tremendously so the turn around has gotten a little longer. Please note that this business is run as a side venture alongside my other full time commitments. I do my best to be as punctual with response and order delivery as possible but availability may be limited compared to businesses solely dedicated to this line of work. With that said, I am committed to maintaining quality and I appreciate you consideration in my products.
I offer several patch mediums. The majority of hats I do are genuine leather. I also do leatherette, which is basically synthetic leather. I can do several different shades of leather or colors including a few camo patterns. I do acrylic as well, which looks like metal but it is actually plastic.
I primarily use Richardson 112 trucker hats. These are the most requested and most popular trucker style hats that everybody wants. I can get other styles, but I don't normally have them on hand. I realize not everybody wants that style of hat. If there is another hat you want me to use, I can probably find it, but many times it is easier for you to do so and then just bring it to me. I do carry a few Richardson trucker comparables from brands like Yupoong and Outdoor Cap Company. Most customers can't tell the difference between Richardson and Yupoong, so Yupoong hats can be a good alternative in the event that I can't get a specific color of Richardson hat. I also have hats made with my own brand. These are identical to Richardson 112 hats, made in the same factory.
*Colors - Richardson and Yupoong hats are made in a bunch of different colors, patterns, and even hat styles. I have a decent supply of different colors and patterns, but if there is a certain one you want, just ask. I might have to order but I can usually find it.
*If you provide hats, I can normally do those no problem.
If I have a good, clear picture of your design, I can usually get into usable art that I can put on a leather patch. I am pretty good at helping with designs and I don't mind doing so, because I want you to be happy with your finished products. That said, if I am reproducing your logo or something you have - I need a clear, sharp image. You can always email me a pdf or something similar. I will send over a picture of finished art for a proof, and sometimes even a picture of the first patch of a big run for larger orders.
Occasionally, customers will send me art or designs that do not meet the required quality standards for me to use effectively. If you are determined to use the materials you have provided, I may need to seek external assistance. In such cases, I will pass the outsourcing cost along to the customer. While I genuinely want to assist every individual, I simply don't have the time to spend hours converting low-quality designs into a usable state, especially when I can easily hire someone to handle it for me. That cost is usually no more than $25, paid once; so if you ever want more hats at a later date, I will have already been through that process and the fee will not be charged again. It may also be more justifiable if you want a large order.
I have several basic patch shapes. I can do pretty much anything though. Since most are heat pressed, I have incorporated a faux thread stitch in so that they appear sewn on. Your design may look better without the stitch, so I can modify the thread style or even remove it completely at your request. See the gallery page here or my Facebook page for samples.
I use natural veg tanned leather only. It comes out very light from that process, almost white in some instances. Occasionally I will get customers asking about leaving it this way, but not often. My normal method of finishing patches is to antique them, which will make them slightly darker. Sometimes customers want a darker color or different shade. If you do, just ask. We can work something out.
Remember that with genuine leather patches, they will get darker over time, especially if worn outdoors. They are natural hide, so they will tan just like we do with sun exposure.
I heat press patches to hats with a purpose built press and use a permanent bonding medium. I do 95% of hats this way. I can also hand sew the patch to the hat, which is how I did them all originally. This is extremely time consuming. If you want your patch hand sewn, I can still do it, but it will be an additional $5 per piece and turn around time will be longer, because this adds significant time to each piece.
I might add a leather sewing machine at some point if demand increases for sewn patches.
